What counts as a siding job in this data
Counted:
- Every type of siding added to the outside of the building: aluminum, vinyl, fiber, cement or wood siding, shingles, facades that look like brick or masonry, stucco and the like.
Not counted:
- Jobs that covered only the trim, soffits and fascia.
- Routine minor work such as painting or decorating.
Survey category: "Added or replaced siding". Costs the Census Bureau filled in (24% of the professional jobs) are left out.
